Insomnia

Insomnia is primarily difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, or trouble waking early with an inability to fall back to sleep, accompanied by clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. The most common type is insomnia with mental health disorders.

Individuals that struggle with insomnia may have a significant amount of stress, from their job, school, work, finances, or a loss of a loved one. This can affect the body's normal circadian rhythm and lead to insomnia. However, your insomnia could also be due to a mental health disorder.

We at Elroi Mental Health Services will use an integrated approach to your disorder, work closely with you to manage your insomnia, and help you get the sleep you need to be fully aware and functional.

Note: Your overall success is mostly dependent on you working with your provider, being willing to participate to reach your goal, and your overall response to treatment.
